About the Department of
Public Safety (DPS)
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is a premier specialized law enforcement sub-department within Georgia State Role Play (GSRP). We are dedicated to maintaining order, ensuring roadway safety, and providing advanced tactical and investigative support across the state.
Our Elite Divisions
To handle the diverse challenges of traffic enforcement and public safety, DPS operates three specialized operational divisions.
H.E.A.T.
The H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) division is equipped with specialized, high-performance pursuit vehicles designed to handle the most dangerous traffic violations. They are the primary unit tasked with intercepting reckless drivers, shutting down aggressive traffic patterns, and taking the lead in high-risk, high-speed vehicle pursuits across the state's highways.
Motor Unit Division
The Motor unit utilizes agile law enforcement motorcycles to navigate environments where traditional patrol vehicles cannot. Their unmatched mobility makes them essential for traffic enforcement and control within dense city limits. Because of their ability to weave through heavy traffic, Motor units frequently serve as the primary agents in complex urban pursuits, maintaining visual contact when larger vehicles are blocked.
M.C.D.
M.C.D. (Motor Carrier Compliance Division) serves a vital dual-purpose operational role. First, they oversee commercial vehicle compliance, conducting rigorous safety inspections on semi-trucks and heavy transport vehicles. Second, they act as the department's specialized impairment and substance unit—administering advanced DUI field tests and conducting chemical analysis to identify seized narcotics and test for drug purity.
